A first cut at the data from Lee Drutman concludes:

bq. We can find no statistically observable relationship between the outside spending in House races and the likelihood of victory. Candidate spending may have had a small effect. There may be some relationship between outside spending and the voting shares, but not in a way that was big enough to affect seats.
