Monkey Cage reader Doug Hess, who used to live and work in Haiti, passes this along:

If you are in Washington, DC, the Haitian Embassy is helping the National Organization for the Advancement of Haitians (NOAH) hold a Survival Kit Drive this Sunday January 17th. The drive will be at the Haitian Embassy on Embassy Row on Massachusetts Ave, NW. Do not bring things they do not ask for (doing so creates a burden for them). Details and the address are here.
If you wish to give cash or have technical expertise to offer, see this site. To give money, see the link that says “CIDI Urges Appropriate Donations for Victims of the Earthquake in Haiti.”

Thanks, if there are groups or faculty on campus looking to do something for Haiti, I’d be happy to talk to them about what I’m learning from friends and communications coming form there. For these purposes use this email: dougrhess2@aol.com (be sure keep the “r” and the “2″ in the address)
