Politics everywhere: Policy debates in the cockpit

A Northwest Airlines flight into Minneapolis with 144 passengers aboard overshot the mark by, oh, just 150 miles or so. And the reason why?

Turns out that the fllight crew was in the middle of “a heated discussion over airline policy and they lost situational awareness.” Obviously you can’t be bothered by such technical niceties as landing an airplane when you’re talkin’ policy.

A lesson for all you policy wonks out there.
