lizzatweetsLizza identified this member only as “a freshman Democrat in a tough race.”  More on the demands of “call time” is in this HuffPo piece by Ryan Grim and Sabrina Siddiqui.  And here’s Ezra Klein’s Storify with these tweets.

If only we could come up with a system by which this freshman Democrat could have his $3 million in campaign expenses paid for by the party, or failing that, fewer than 1000+ distinct donors. But, you know, that would “increase” the appearance of corruption more than representatives spending 25% of the day raising money.

Thanks for putting this up.

I’d prefer that those elected to represent me spend their time discussing issues with the voters, not those who represent PACs and will give them money. It’s long been known that money buys access to those who vote for us, but the funds they are raising means that it’s difficult for them to talk to anyone else.
