Giving credit where due

Gregg Easterbrook may not always be on the ball, but I 100% endorse the last section of his recent column (scroll down to “Absurd Specificity Watch”).

Earlier in the column, Easterbrook has a plug for Tim Tebow. I’d forgotten about Tim Tebow.

    Sorry, when Greg Easterbrook attempts to make fun of Nate Silver, I think you can predict who’s the idiot. Silver is just reporting the number his model gives him and not increasing the error factor by rounding. Too bad Easterbrook can’t figure that out, but it’s not surprising.

      I think Nate is great but I’m with Easterbrook on this one. It’s misleading to report win probabilities to 1/10 of a percentage point. I blogged on this during the election season.
