Mating Rituals of the Presidential Contenders

From the Mitt Romney for President website (via Meghan Bartels):

“Mitt married his wife, Ann, in 1969. They first met in elementary school when he was a Cub Scout; he remembers tossing pebbles at her when she rode by on a horse.”

Is it any wonder that 2% of undecided voters say they like Romney a lot? If I was his campaign manager, I think I would just stop showing us his human side.

Why does Mitt Romney walk and talk like a robot?

Perhaps because he’s a bitter man clinging to guns and religion!

By the way, why does Barack Obama sound like a fool when he’s not using a teleprompter?

There are many unknowables across the political spectrum.

Also from the Mitt Romney for President website: “Like any family, the Romneys have faced hardship: Ann was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1998, and more recently fought a battle with breast cancer. She credits her husband’s unwavering care and devotion to her for helping her through these ordeals.”

Romney should stop showing his human side? At least it is not hard to detect decidedly partisan posts such as this. I suppose I expected more from “objective” political scientists. Thankfully, Morris Fiorina recently explained in an op-ed posted on the New York Times website that “Romney’s likability deficit” will most likely not have an impact on the outcome of the 2012 election.
