The first question provides too much of an easy out, namely that gun laws are still too restrictive (despite clear evidence to the contrary). Far better would be to ask for a response to the following: From the New York Times
What could a single or perhaps even a few arms-bearing citizens reasonably be expected to do against this? Perhaps they get off a few rounds. Then what? @jricole is right, “What is worse, having these powerful weapons freely available is an excuse to further militarize local law enforcement and to ‘up’ ‘security’ in public spaces.”
