The 1995-96 Shutdowns and Approval of Bill Clinton

In case there is another shutdown, I wanted to repost my graph of Clinton’s approval during the 1995-96 shutdowns. Again, the point is that — as measured by approval — Clinton did not clearly benefit from the shutdown, even if he is perceived to have “won” the battle with the Republicans. Uh, looks to me like he was flat until the first shutdown, then starts trending steadily upward.
