Deadline for Paper Proposals for Inaugaral European Political Science Assocation Annual Conference

- December 6, 2010

The call for papers deadline for the European Political Science Association (EPSA) 1st Annual General Conference is approaching! I was fortunate enough to be part of the planning meetings for this last year, and I think it promises to be a good one. Besides, don’t you want to be able to tell your students someday that you presented a paper at the very first EPSA meetings?? Here’s the announcement from the conference organizers:

Date: June 16-18 2011
Venue: Guinness Storehouse Conference Centre, Dublin, Ireland

Proposal Submission Deadline: FRIDAY DECEMBER 10, 2010

The first annual conference of the European Political Science Association will take place from June 16-18, 2011 at the Guinness Storehouse Conference Centre, in the heart of the Guinness brewery in Dublin, Ireland. Around 500 participants from all over the world will enjoy a conference in which cutting-edge research is paired with excellent networking opportunities.

Conference presentations are organized by topic into ten broadly defined sections, designed to attract a wide variety of specific proposals for papers within each section. EPSA also invites proposals to attend as a panel chair or discussant.

Dublin is a great place to visit. The city is brimming with life, music, entertainment, and a great restaurant or a pub is never far. The conference takes place during the week in which the days are longest and the nights shortest. The conference therefore aims not just to bring together the foamy froth of latest political science research, but also to do so in during a part of the calendar that has since Neolithic times has been recognized as ideal for large gatherings.

EPSA employs a policy of non-discrimination and therefore does not have panels for graduate students only. Consequently, proposal registration does not require disclosure of the year in which the PhD was completed. In the spirit of this equal participation policy, however, all attendees face the same registration fees, although registration will be discounted for EPSA members. (EPSA may be joined from the “EPSA webpage”:http://www.epsanet.org/join.html, at a discount until December 31, 2010.)
