Paul Staniland will be joining us for a while as a guest blogger – we’re really pleased to have him. He’s just started a position as assistant professor at the University of Chicago, but has compiled an extraordinarily impressive “list of publications”:http://web.mit.edu/polisci/students/pstaniland/pstaniland.html already. His dissertation was a comparative study of the organization of insurgent groups across India, Sri Lanka and (of particular interest to me) Northern Ireland; he’s also been directly engaged in policy debates over the efficacy (or lack of efficacy) of COIN. We’re really happy to have him.
